Dozens of the Pacitan's Indonesian Muslim Students Movement (PMII) activists held a fundraising concert for the victims of conflict in Gaza.<>

Condemning the Israeli brutal military actions in the Gza Strip, the PMII activists held a rally from the Pacitan's PMII headquarters located on Jl. Veteran 20, Pacitan, on Thursday (17/7) afternoon. Walking along the protocol street, they moved toward the town square and then proceeded into the intersection of Penceng.

Chairman of PMII Pacitan Septian Dwi Cahyo said, "what is happening in Gaza is not a war, but a massacre," adding that the target of the Israeli brutality was not Hamas soldiers but civilians.

Septian strongly denounced the Iraeli military crime in Gaza and urged all parties, including international organizations to soon stop the crime.

"The United Nations (UN) was given a mandate by citizens of the world to stop the Israeli aggression in Gaza. The UN should immediately take a stand," Septian said.

As a symbol of resistance to the Israeli aggression, the activists performed the so-called salatul ghaib (prayer for the dead in absentia) and prayed for the innocent victims in Palestine. Funds collected from the fundraising concert will be donated through the Central Board of PMII in Jakarta.
