The plan of Institute for Legal Assistance (LPBH) of East Java’s Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) to submit accusation of “class action” of PT Lapindo Brantas Inc., was for a while suspended for the local residents were still awkward to delegate their representatives.
“Tomorrow local residents should ideally submit individuals to be representatives in coming class action,” Chief of East Java’s LPBH PWNU Sri Sugeng Pujiatmiko told NU Online in Surabaya, Thursday (29/6).
<>Initially, the accusation of 12 individuals of four villages as a result of hot mudflow, such as Renokenongo, Siring, Jatirejo, and Kedungbendo. The accusation related to compensation received by victims of hot mud and toxic gas has now still unclear.

According to Sugeng. There was no any pressure from certain people. At present local residents have not yet demanded Lapindo. they have expected it to be responsible by providing compensation. Formerly, Lapindo, according to Sugeng, has poured aid amounted to Rp. 12 billion as compensation.
“Perhaps this (aid) made the residents calm down. Yet it was still little to merely be compensation of the victims of four villages. While the aid as compensation of the really damaged areas was still unclear. What we need, the residents will receive clearly and adequately compensation,” Sugeng added. (nam)
