Sudan's NU uses Ramadhan to strengthen communication

The Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch Board (PCINU) of Sudan recently held a fast breaking gathering as part of efforts to continue to forge ties with the Indonesian community in Sudan.<>
The event was attended by students and communities from such organizations as PPMI (Indonesian Students Association), Jakarta, Aceh, Bahrul Ulum, Bil Qisht Thailand and Sri Lanka.
In addition, the religious gathering was attended by a score of staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia such as Nandang, Safri, Syu'aib, Afif and Faizil. Present also at the occassion were envoys from Wafidin (Sudan's organization engaged in scholarship) and NGOs.
"Yes, the event like this is necessary for NU to forge ties with people openly. In principle, we can gather, meet and coomunicate to fellow friends," chairman of lawmaking body (rais syuriyah) of PCINU H Hirman Ahmad Taufiq said, adding that there was "clearly no any interest in the gathering".
