A total of 4,433 Indonesians from various regions have arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the hajj pilgrimage, Antara news agency reported.<>
The chief of the Jeddah working area, Ahmad Abdullah, said here on Saturday that 12 flights have already arrived here, but "we have not yet checked their health conditions, as they are still in the immigration office."
He said it normally takes four hours to finish the paperwork before being allowed to leave the King Abdul Azis airport.
He said the pilgrims were all fine, except one named Toto Amat Rejo, (64), from Sukoharjo, Solo, who had to be taken to King Fahd hospital for a kidney problem he had long suffered from.
Health service section chief Ananto Prasetya said Toto might have suffered from dehydration and a fever while on the eight hour journey.
"His condition is already improving. We are now waiting for a recommendation from the doctor for his discharge," he said.
He added that if Toto was allowed to leave the hospital, he would be taken to Madina by ambulance.
Eighteen flights are expected to arrive here on Saturday.
He said the Jedah working area would serve 332 groups, out of 482 groups to arrive from Indonesia, with members reaching around 130,000, and manage the return of around 378 flight groups with members reaching 150,000.
