President Inaugurates Islamic Museum in Jombang

President Joko Widodo or Jokowi conducted a working visit in East Java, on Tuesday (18/12).
As reported by Antara news agency, Jokowi was seen wearing a white shirt, sarong and black peci (cap) when arriving at Juanda International Airport at 9:30. He was welcomed by the Governor of East Java, Soekarwo.
The president was accompanied by the Presidential Palace spokesman Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin, and National Awakening Party (PKB) chairman Muhaimin Iskandar a.k.a Cak Imin.
Jokowi was scheduled to inaugurate the Indonesian Islamic Museum in Tebuireng, Jombang, East Java. The location is close to the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School.
“President Jokowi will go to Jombang to carry out several activities, including inaugurating the Indonesian Islamic Museum of KH Hasyim Asy’ari,” said an official from the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, K.H. Shalahudin Wahid, in Jombang, Monday (17/12).
Jokowi was also scheduled to stop at several Islamic boarding schools, including Darul Ulum Peterongan, Bahrul Ulum Tambakrejo, and Mambaul Maarif Denanyar, to meet with a number of ulema. (Masdar)
