The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) agreed to work together to sharpen the socialization of four pillars of democracy in Indonesia, which consist of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the national unity and the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). This step is expected to reinforce the value contained within the four pillars in each element of the nation, ranging from officials to ordinary people.
The agreement was reached in the hearing board Tannfidziyah NU ranks with the leaders of the Assembly who represented the Chairman and Vice Chairman Taufik Kiemas Leimena Suharli Melani, Monday (5 / 12). Socialization of the four pillars of democracy itself had previously been one of MPR work program as the highest institution in Indonesia.
"Actually this is not the only task of the Assembly, but the entire people of Indonesia.'s Why we wanted to hold Community Organisations (CBOs) such as NU, because if CBOs that do bahasannya more understandable," said Taufik on the reason She led NU in the socialization of the four pillars of democracy.
Technical related socialization that sharpened the four pillars of democracy, will be discussed further in the future.
Chairman of the NU KH. Said Aqil Siroj, on the invitation of the MPR to get together to socialize the four pillars of democracy sharpens his address either. Understanding of the values contained in the four pillars of democracy admittedly very limited, as evidenced in the visit and preaching in some areas some time ago.
"In Lampung and Jambi I've no invitation proselytizing, there I met a student who started wearing the veil. That the seeds of Islamic radicals who began to enter the campus, which originally could be due to a weak understanding of the state," said Kiai Said.
Even more alarming, it still says Kiai Said, less understanding of the four pillars of democracy has also been plagued government officials, both civilian and military. "It is time the four pillars of democracy was introduced more deeply, not only to society, but also among officials," he said.
While Vice Chairman of the NU As'ad Said Ali, who also joined the glittering audience more emphasis to the importance of how to amend the 1945 Constitution is correct. Of the few times amendments have been done, he acknowledges there are still some things missing.
Among others in understanding the guided democracy which is currently considered to be excessive. Assembly required to properly oversee the 1945 amendment. Another thing that also gets the spotlight is on the first paragraph of Pancasila, Belief in God Almighty, who shall diterjemahman properly assessed.
"We're not a religious state, but also not a secular state. I am sure the Assembly could guard it well," said As'ad.
The hearing itself is conducted Tanfidziyah NU board ranks as well as reciprocal visits, given already several times Taufik Kiemas as Chairman of the Assembly upon the invitation of NU. From the audience, Vice Chairman of the Assembly Melani Leimena Suharli admitted very happy, because NU was willing to assist efforts to socialize the four pillars of democracy in Indonesia.
